The Hyland Teen Center of Benicia (HTC) is a drop-in center where teens can play music, do art, watch movies, do homework, and play board games, etc. In addition, counseling and mentoring services will be offered to those teens that need additional support. The Teen Center is “a safe place for the Teens to fall”, a place where they can spend time with their friends as well as caring adults in the community.
The HTC is open to all Benicia residents or Benicia Unified School District students in 8th to 12th grades (13 – 18 years old). The teen center is temporarily located in a space at Northgate Church in Benicia. WiFi and Chromebooks are available, and the Center is an ideal location for teens to work on group projects.
The HTC , “your home away from home”, provides a place for ALL teens to hang out and enjoy themselves in a stress-free and creative environment.
Services at the HTC are made possible by funding from the State of California.
Note: we are now in a temporary location and we have more limited offerings. This is only temporary until we move into our new building on West 10th St. Stay tuned!
The Kyle Hyland Foundation (KHF) may at times use photographs, audio, and/or video recordings of employees and patrons for purposes of publicity on behalf of the KHF, via the Internet, print publications, and other media. We are currently looking for volunteers who are able to work one day per week for 2-3 hours at the Hyland Teen Center of Benicia.
If interested, the process is as follows: have a brief interview with the Executive Director or Volunteer Coordinator, work two shifts at HTC followed by a LiveScan done at the Benicia Police Department. Please contact Barb at 707-301-8312 or kylehylandfoundation@gmail with any questions.
